Firstly sorry for the lateness of this newsletter, I was hoping to get one out much earlier than this, but as happens time got away, I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and new year, Can’t believe we’re half way through February already. Since the last newsletter in December we’ve had a few changes
around the club. Firstly Dave Johnston has resigned from the position
of Vice president, I would like to take this time to thank Dave for all
his help through out last year and hope he would still help out when
he can. CLUB Improvement

roof and the practice range, others are not quite so easy to see, we are currently working on raising funds to purchase and build new flushing toilets and showers, and electricity. We have also been looking at NEW GROUNDS, Over the break the committee meet with Caboolture shire council and the mayors to find out if there was any larger grounds available in the shire that we may be able to use as it is very hard for us to hold any large tournaments on our own grounds, Although this was successfully done last year new grounds would make it easier for us to give more challenging and enjoyable courses. The meeting was very successful with the council showing a willingness to help with funding application and advise but also will look for other suitable grounds with in the surrounding area, a general meeting is being organized to get members views and ideas. Invitational Shoot From what has been said it was a great success, with over 120 archers. Istvan set the ranges for them and I believe that hey were quite tough for he first shoot back, By all accounts Caboolture was very well represented by it members, Well Done to all those archers from Caboolture who turned up to support the event. The next Invitational is at Hinterland on the 20th May. |

![]() The series will consist of 4 shoots – one at each of the 4 clubs ( Ipswich, Hinterland, North Albert and Caboolture). The first 3 shoots will be one (1) day shoots & the fourth (final) shoot will be a two day shoot. The final will rotate year by year, so that all clubs will have a chance to host the final.
Medallions to be awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each division at each of the 3 one day shoots. Medallions to be bought in bulk and the cost divided between the three (3) host clubs. Medallions left over at the end of the year will be re-used the following year, and the remaining required medallions will be ordered. The cost will be divided between the three clubs hosting the one day shoots the following year. The medallions will all house the SE QLD Invitational Series logo, and will be in gold, silver and bronze.
At the end of all 4 shoots a perpetual shield will be awarded to the club with the highest average. The average will be determined by adding the total scores for all members at each shoot and then dividing that by the number of archers attending from that club. The averages from all 4 shoots will then be added together, and the club with the highest overall average score will win the perpetual shield. Also for 2007, Neil Digweed will donate a 3D target to the winning club. There will be other prizes and awards presented at the end of the series, including Top 10 winners in both divisions, and awards for the most improved juniors, both male and female. At each of the first 3 shoots, $3 from each archer’s fees will be taken and kept by the club to help pay for the medallions. So for example, if there are 60 shooters in attendance the amount would be 60 x $3 = $180. Expected total cost for medallions is 60 x $5.85 = $351. There will be a lucky door prize of a pair of binoculars, worth $870, from Gecko Archery Supplies. Every participant will receive one ticket at every shoot they attend. These tickets will be placed in a hat and the winner drawn at the final at presentations.
A family consists of a maximum of 2 adults & 2 juniors 2007 3DAAA shoot rules apply for all of the shoots in this series. The 11 ring DOES apply, as per 3DAAA rules.

This year it will be Shot over 2 days, the tournament comprises of 50 painted turkey targets set in and around the Caboolture Bowmen Archery complex. With a mixture of both hens and strutters, the course will be challenging but not sole destroying. In addition to the turkey ranges, there will be a separate 3D target range, this is a special round being held on Saturday, This year the courses are going to be 25 Saturday with a special round and 25 Sunday with best of best Sunday Tournament Rules Now turkeys can be difficult to hit on a good day and usually there is only 1 or 2 on a course, but a course of 10 turkeys may be a little daunting. Although the tournament is sanctioned by 3DAAA, it is not considered part of the 2007 shooter of the year program, it is great practice for everyone and promises to be a lot fun. With that in mind and to make the courses as friendly as possible, especially for the barebow shooters, the shoot committee has decided to alter the rules for the shoot. These shoot division and distance rules are applicable to the turkey ranges. 3D-AAA Rules for Shoot will apply in general except in the following circumstances: * The green peg will be split with barebow and sighted/hunter class
shooting different distances. Maximum distances will be: Red peg 15 yards ( All Cubs Unaided, CubF, ) White peg 25 yards ( Trad, Cubs Aided, RU, FU,YF) Yellow peg 35 yards ( RA , MCU, YMR13-14, YMF, FBF) Green peg 45 yards (Hunter, MBF, MBR, FBO, FBR, MSR60+ MSR female, YMR 15-17) Orange peg 50 yards (MBO, MSR-60, ) In addition to the above there may also be some new score zones not previously seen on the hen turkeys. 1 score zone will be more prominent that the other. Nominations Shoot fees are the same as a normal 3DAAA tournament. This fee includes both the 50 turkey targets and 1 special round on saturday Trophies A Best of the Best shoot-out will be held at the end of the shoot. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of the shoot-outs as well as 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing's in ALL divisions. . Amenities Our amenities block will provide you with toilets and bush showers. Lunch will be provided. 2007 Event Your participation at this event will determine if that is possible. Please support the event! For more information contact us. |
