communal campfire for a great night of chatter, plus catering from Friday night to Sunday lunch.
It should be a great shoot and the scout camp has some fantastic grounds for some top shots. Again help will be needed as it will be
a very busy weekend. So if you can help out in the canteen, with the ranges, or general set up of the shoot, please contact Dennis or
Stephen ASAP. Your help will be greatly appreciated. We are looking for sponsors for this shoot as well. A small donation for advertising
on a target, and space on our website for 12 months. If you know of anyone who might be interested please contact Stephen Smith on 5498 7123
for more details.

targets. With such small grounds it's a bit of a squeeze, but I think everyone will agree that he and his co- conspirators, Adrian and Dwayne did a great job. There were some tricky shots set out and I think a huge favourite was the standing bear on Sunday, who was ummm, having a lie down…hee hee. Yep, the boys laid him down so you had to shoot him on the side score zone…quite different! Huge thanks to Cathy who ran and organized the canteen for the weekend. She did a fantastic job and kept everyone well fed with delicious bacon and egg rolls for breaky, hot dogs for lunch, plus a great steak dinner for those who camped. Campers started arriving on Friday and from all accounts they had a “merry” night talking and drinking around the campfire until all hours of the night. A bunch of guys and girls even came down from Gladstone for the shoot, which was great!

Also the lucky door prize was drawn by Antony Goyen from Gecko Archery. Antony and Vortex kindly donated a pair of binoculars worth $870, and for every shoot you attended a raffle ticket was placed in the box with your name on it. The winner pulled out of the box by Antony was our very own Stephen Smith. Congratulations Stephen, what an awesome prize to win. (See the photo on the front page) Although it wasn’t presented at the shoot Neil Digweed from Delta McKenzie Australia also donated a great prize of a 3D target to the winning club in this series. The winning club was Ipswich, who had the highest average over all 4 shoots. Huge thanks to all the sponsors who helped make this shoot such a success. YATALA 2007 Sunday morning came and the weather didn’t look fantastic but we hit the courses hoping the rain would stay away. Two courses today on the same side of the road as the club house and these were set by Mick Watts. That meant they were much friendlier, although still tricky, but not so many long ones and a few shorter ones to get your confidence back on. One thing the guys did do this year was to start every single course with a turkey of some description. So if you missed the 10 on the turkey there was no pressure, you knew straight away you weren’t going to get a 100…ha ha! Today we shot the big bison, and many would say “how can you miss that thing”, well believe me its possible….no, I didn’t miss it but I’ve heard that some people did. My favourite shot would have to have been the croc across the dam…what a tough shot to get your distance on and such a skinny target too. I shot him in the eyeball…and believe me I was just happy to have hit him! The rain started just as we started the second course for the day, but it was only a light shower at that stage. Presentations got under way after lunch and Caboolture did quite well as always. Scores for the weekend will be up on the website soon, and there was at least one error that I know of, so once that is fixed we will know the true standings, but congratulations to the following club members who were awarded a place at the presentation: Jacqui Callon – 1st place FBR Although these results are yet to be confirmed I can also tell you that these members just missed out on the trophies, but did exceptionally well: Margie Popovic – 4th place FBO

Dennis Malone – 8th place MBR The only thing that marred the weekend was that Rob and Sally Donnelly were involved in a car accident on their way to the shoot on Friday afternoon. I’m pleased to say that they are both ok, as is Ethan who was in the car with them, but I believe their car did not fair too well. Both Rob and Sally were feeling very sore on Saturday morning and had to have their trailer towed home by Chris Wakely. I’m sure you will all join us in wishing them a speedy recovery.
